Under the direction of the Receivables Supervisor;   identifies correct payment, contractual adjustments, and patient responsibility amounts from the insurance explanation of benefits.  Post denials with correct HIPPA Remark codes that will be reviewed by other internal departments for future collections/billing.  Resolves edits for situations that cannot be programmed.   Navigate to several insurance websites to download posting remits/electronic files.  Other related duties as required.

Job Responsibilities: 

1) Supports the Hospital Team with all aspects of the CSC posting application.

2) Validates cash, adjustment and denial batches prior to posting to SMS.

3) Assist in training of new staff.

4) Resolve all "not editor" edits in the CSC system.

5) Assists in the download and processing of EDI transmissions..

6) Responsible for motivating the CSC team on a day to day basis..

Preferred Work Experience: 

1) SMS Cash Posting experience preferred

1) Advanced PC skills (Windows, Explorer, Excel, Word, Access, SMS)

2)  Strong Analytical skills

3)  Oral and written communication skills

4)  Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment

5)  Ability to multitask in an electronic setting
