Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.

Baystate Health, western Massachusetts’s premier healthcare provider, and home to Baystate Medical Practices is looking for an experienced Quality Nurse  to join our Ambulatory Quality and Clinical Integration Team   

The Quality & Integration Nurse supports the development, implementation, and evaluation of ambulatory quality and safety-related practices, programs, and services consistent with the institution's mission, goals, and objectives.  The Quality & Integration Nurse reviews, recommends, and implements systems and strategies that are responsive to evolving clinical and operational needs of ambulatory practices and related services and result in high-quality, safe clinical performance, including effective access to care and utilization of resources.

Responsibilities include.

  • Managing quality improvement, safety, infection control, and patient experience initiatives to assist the Baystate Medical Practices (BMP) in providing patient centric care.

  • RN will perform a variety of tasks involving the monitoring, assessment, and analysis of quality and safety practices, access to care, and utilization of resources to optimize quality, safety, and value across the continuum of ambulatory and practice-based care.

  •  Lead and support practice transformation and redesign work and sustainment.

  • Identify, analyze, and resolve barriers that may impact the ability to provide high quality and cost-effective patient care in the ambulatory settings.

  • Facilitate and support Performance Improvement meetings and improvement activities.

  • Develop close working relationships with care teams at key strategic sites and practice, including engaging in standing and ad-hoc meetings intended to drive improvements in quality, safety, and access to care.  

  • Data Management -Organize and coordinate data abstraction and data entry, ensuring data validity, presentation, and preliminary analyses for selected projects sponsored and/or supported by the quality department.

  • Prepare reports through presentation or clearly written narrative; communicate information effectively with attention to detail and deadlines.

  • Assist practice staff, providers, and leaders in understanding and responding to quality, safety, integration, value, and clinical access measures.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse, BSN or BA is preferred.

  • 3-5 years clinical nursing experience.

  • Quality Improvement experience strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge in improvement methodologies including but not limited to PDSA, RCA, LEAN methods, value stream mapping.

  • Ability to manage quality data including abstraction and reporting.

  • Strong communication, clinical knowledge, organizational skills and the ability to lead teams and manage projects.

  • Understanding of value-based care as well as regulatory and payer requirements for reporting.

  • Strong PC skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Experience writing and implementing policies, procedures and workflows.

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to organize and execute multiple priorities.

  • Must be willing to use own vehicle to travel between multiple practices across 4 regions.
