Baystate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Adult Emergency Department at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. As western Massachusetts' only Level I Trauma Center, the Adult Emergency Department cares for patients experiencing a wide range of emergent, urgent, and critical healthcare needs. Nurses work alongside emergency physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams to deliver exceptional patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

The Registered Nurse role offers the opportunity to develop advanced emergency nursing skills, care for a diverse patient population, and make a meaningful impact during some of the most critical moments in a patient's healthcare journey while serving the community as part of a highly skilled emergency care team.

The Registered Nurse Will:

• Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Deliver evidence-based emergency nursing care to patients with acute, complex, and traumatic conditions.
• Recognize acute changes in patient status and intervene appropriately.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with department and hospital standards.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and discharge planning.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient care rounds, and shared governance activities.
• Maintain clinical competencies and uphold Baystate Health's standards of professional nursing practice.

Schedule Details

• Job Type: Full-Time
• Shift: Nights
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends required
• On-Call Requirement: None
• Other Scheduling Requirements: Rotating holidays required

Required Skills

• Must have 10 months or more of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse. Any exception must be approved by the Chief Nursing Officer.
• Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

• Previous Emergency Department or acute care nursing experience.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
