Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Meal Service & Customer Care
Assesses patients for appropriate food selections and assists patients and families with menu choices in compliance with MNT orders and documented allergies. Confirms diet orders and allergies in applicable systems (CIS/CBord or equivalent). Accurately assembles patient meal trays and snacks according to prescribed diet orders and food safety standards. Delivers meals, snacks, and supplements to patient units using dual identifiers and ensures tray accuracy and completeness. Assists patients with tray setup when needed and coordinates delivery with nursing staff as required. Records meal intake, supplement consumption, and calorie counts when ordered. Communicates food concerns, intake issues, or patient feedback to the Clinical Nutrition Team, nursing, or Supervisor. Performs tray tracking and ensures timely, accurate delivery within established timeframes.
Kitchen Operations & Utility Support
Performs dish room operations including loading/unloading conveyor dish machines, tray retrieval, cart delivery, and tray removal. Safely washes and sanitizes all plate ware, utensils, pots/pans, equipment, carts, and food prep areas using approved procedures and chemicals. Maintains separation of clean and soiled items to prevent cross-contamination. Maintains sanitation of dish room, tray line, and production areas including floors and equipment at the end of shift. Utilizes proper chemical ratios according to Quality Assurance standards and follows all safety protocols. Practices safe food handling procedures including hand hygiene, glove use, temperature control, and First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory rotation. Stocks and refills cold and dry storage supplies for tray assembly areas and maintains established par levels. Accurately processes commissary orders and assists with inventory control.
Quality, Compliance & Team Support
Maintains temperature logs, Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) documentation as required by HACCP, JCAHO, DPH, and departmental standards. Demonstrates professionalism and serves as a positive representative of the department and organization. Works effectively in a fast-paced environment as both a team member and independently with minimal supervision. Performs additional duties as assigned, including food prep assistance, special cleaning projects, or operational support based on departmental needs.
