Guest Services Ambassador

Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, and home to Baystate Medical Center (BMC), is looking for a Guest Service Ambassador to join our Patient Services team in Springfield, MA.
SCHEDULE:
- Part-time, 16 hours a week
- 3:30pm-7:30pm
- Ability to work rotating days, including weekends and holidays
RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Guest Service Ambassador (GSA), you’ll play a vital role in enhancing the patient experience by ensuring every meal is delivered with care, accuracy, and a focus on individual needs.
Patient Experience & Support
- Assist patients and families with menu selections that align with Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) orders
- Provide guidance and recommend appropriate food choices and alternatives
- Communicate patient concerns or intake issues to nursing and Clinical Nutrition teams
Meal Preparation & Delivery
- Accurately assemble and deliver meals, snacks, and supplements in compliance with diet orders and allergies
- Verify patient identity using dual identifiers during delivery
- Ensure trays are complete and assist patients with setup when needed
- Coordinate meal delivery with nursing staff for point-of-care patients
Food Safety & Quality
- Follow safe food handling practices, including proper hygiene and temperature control
- Maintain clean workspaces (“clean in, clean out”)
- Practice First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory methods
Operations & Coordination
- Record meal intake, supplements, fluids, and calorie counts as required
- Track trays and report any issues promptly
- Stock and replenish tray line supplies and maintain inventory levels
- Process commissary orders to ensure consistent availability of food items

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Basic math and computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions
- Excellent verbal communication and customer service mindset
- Experience in hospitality/food services industry strongly preferred
- 1-2 years' experience in customer service
- Ability to multitask

Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
