Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, is seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Clinical Staffing & Scheduling Operations Specialist (RN) to serve as a critical clinical and technical resource within our Central Staffing Office in Holyoke, MA.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Clinical Staffing and Scheduling Operations Specialist (RN) blends clinical expertise with operational leadership and informatics, ensuring optimal staffing decisions that support safe, high-quality patient care. As a trusted advisor, you will partner with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders to optimize staffing workflows, implement scheduling technologies, and drive system-wide improvements.
Clinical Staffing & Operations
- Provide real-time staffing support to ensure safe and effective allocation of nursing and ancillary resources
- Guide deployment and redeployment of staff, including flex teams and behavioral resource technicians
- Serve as a clinical advisor to staffing teams, supporting decision-making during assigned shifts
Leadership & Collaboration
- Act as a trusted advisor to clinical and operational leaders across the health system
- Foster a collaborative, respectful, and inclusive work environment
- Mentor and support staff through coaching, conflict resolution, and change management
- Build strong partnerships across multidisciplinary teams
Project Management & Informatics
- Lead and support clinical and business projects impacting staffing and operations
- Develop functional and technical requirements, workflow documentation, and system specifications
- Manage project plans, timelines, risks, and implementation processes
- Partner with IT and Project Management teams to ensure successful delivery
System Implementation & Support
- Support implementation and optimization of scheduling systems (e.g., Advanced Kronos Scheduling)
- Act as a subject matter expert on clinical and business applications
- Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution
- Recommend system enhancements to improve operational efficiency
Consultation & Clinical Innovation
- Advise on the use of technology to enhance patient care delivery and safety
- Translate clinical workflows into effective informatics solutions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align systems with organizational goals
Education & Training
- Develop and deliver training programs for clinical and operational staff
- Create user documentation and support materials
- Promote continuous learning and adoption of new technologies
SCHEDULE:
- Full-time, 40 hours a week
- Ability to work rotating weekends/holidays
LOCATION:
- 361 Whitney Ave
- Holyoke, MA
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (State of Massachusetts)
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of acute care clinical experience in a complex healthcare setting
- Experience as a Nursing Supervisor
- Expertise with Advanced Kronos Scheduling or similar workforce management systems
- Experience as a clinical superuser or subject matter expert

Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.

$98,051.00 – $112,715.00 – $133,348.00
