Surgical Technologist – Part-Time Days
Schedule: Part-Time Days| 7am-7:30 pm| 24 hours per week | Rotating Weekends, Holidays & On-Call Required
Make a difference every day as part of a collaborative surgical team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. As a Surgical Technologist, you'll work alongside surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia providers to ensure every procedure is performed safely, efficiently, and with the highest standards of sterile technique.
This part-time day position includes rotating weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities, offering the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented operating room while supporting a variety of surgical specialties.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room environment before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon by selecting and passing instruments, supplies, and equipment throughout each procedure.
- Safely operate, inspect, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and hospital policies.
- Participate as an integral member of the surgical team by understanding the patient's history, allergies, and intraoperative plan of care.
- Demonstrate knowledge of medications used within the sterile field, including proper labeling, dosage recognition, and safe handling practices.
- Maintain the highest standards of aseptic technique and infection prevention to promote patient safety.
- Complete required documentation accurately and within the Surgical Technologist scope of practice.
- Demonstrate best practices in sharps safety, specimen handling and labeling, and intraoperative temperature regulation.
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia providers, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Maintain competency through ongoing education and adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate degree in Surgical Technology for individuals entering the profession on or after July 1, 2013, or eligibility under applicable grandfathering provisions for those practicing prior to that date.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or completion of an approved structured training program with an equivalent professional credential.
- Certification is required for new hires without surgical facility experience prior to July 1, 2013.
- Strong knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, anatomy, and operative procedures.
Preferred
- Previous experience in an acute care hospital operating room is preferred but not required.

Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
