Summary:
The Vendor Manager- Network Services is responsible for the successful implementation and management of HNE outsourced functions. Analyses potential vendors in partnership with business leads, makes contracting recommendations, and helps drive consensus. Specific vendor management roles and responsibilities may include visiting vendors, communicating with vendors to ask any product or price questions, negotiating contracts to get the desired pricing and analyzing multiple vendors along with key business owners to decide which to use for a particular product.
The Vendor Manager -Network Services role is responsible for managing the vendor relationships from the start of the contract through all phases of vendor implementation; testing, and continuous management against the contractual Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and performance guarantees (PGs). They must provide analyses to direct supervisors on vendor(s) performance, costs, product/program enhancements, issues, and ensure the terms of the contracts are followed by all parties. The Vendor Manager-Network Services position supports a specific business area such as Network and Health Services that leverages vendors to meet business requirements. They will build positive relationships with new vendors and maintain good relationships with existing ones as well.

Essential Functions

Manage relationships with designated vendors, making sure contract terms are fulfilled and mitigating vendor risk

Create effective partnerships with vendors which benefit both parties

Identify potential vendors (as applicable) and conduct research to determine who offers the best products, prices, and services

Coordinate vendors to develop efficient supply chain strategies
-
Manage external relations with vendors that provide network solutions for HNE
-
Perform as functional bridge between the external vendor and internal business owners
-
Coordinate all vendor management tasks inclusive of working with external vendors and internal employees (e.g. compliance, legal)

Ensure enterprise-wide needs for due diligence, risk assessment and continuing vendor monitoring are being accomplished

Help and coordinate vendor processes and methods to approve vendors

Ensure to track, measure, report and evaluate vendor performance

Troubleshoot all vendor problems and present to management as required

Identify improvement areas internally as well as perform closely with all internal stakeholders to prepare solutions

Identify and implement continuously enhance efficiencies associated with vendor management plus produce fulfillment

Participate to formulate workflow processes, methods and policies for applying vendors

Ensure to collaborate with business operations (e.g. IT, finance, accounts payable, compliance, legal, etc.) areas to assure vendor partners effectively manage plus contracts are completely leveraged

Prepare processes for as well as manage analysis, selection and transition

Monitor contractual agreements for all vendor SLAs

Stimulate steady process enhancement to present increasing operational efficiency in entire business partner processes

Validate vendor processes, policies, and other documentation meet state contractual, federal and accreditation requirements

Manage and scale multiple vendor engagements for technology solutions across the company and drive administrative efficiencies and cost savings

Own, review and ensure satisfaction of vendor scorecards established to adhere to in their SOWs – focusing on service levels, risks, issues, proactively identified opportunities and ideas for improvements

Support monthly and/or quarterly vendor status reporting, supplier metrics, risk indicators and performance metrics

Support various ad-hoc projects supporting program enhancements, process improvements, and other functions

Own execution of and satisfaction of all billing/invoicing business expansion/contraction support, as well as all, reduction, expansion, and termination of vendor SOW

Additional duties as assigned.
Education/ Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or related field, plus 5-7 years of experience in the health care industry (at least 3 years in managed care contracting).
· Strong knowledge of commercial and government programs reimbursement methodologies and risk sharing models
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
· Ability to use financial and utilization data to formulate rate proposals within budgeted financial targets and evaluate financial impact of changes in payment terms
· Initiative and ability to solve problems at the strategic and tactical level
· Demonstrates solid communication, interpersonal, relationship-building and negotiation skills
· Ability to form and lead teams as necessary for development, and implementation of new or modified policies, programs or processes to support provider contracting objectives
· Demonstrates team leadership, facilitation and coaching skills

Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
