Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Integration Engineer to join a dynamic healthcare technology team focused on building, supporting, and optimizing mission-critical clinical and enterprise applications.

This role plays a key part in translating complex business and clinical requirements into scalable, secure, and well-engineered software solutions that directly support patient care, operational efficiency, and system-wide interoperability.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Senior Data Integration Engineer is responsible for the full software development lifecycle—from design and development to testing, deployment, and ongoing support—while also serving as a technical leader, mentor, and trusted partner to both IT and clinical stakeholders.

Full Lifecycle Application Development

  • Translate business and clinical requirements into detailed technical and functional specifications
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain complex application systems
  • Ensure solutions follow established architecture standards, release management practices, and documentation requirements
  • Support evaluation and adoption of new technologies aligned with enterprise strategy

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans across unit, system, and functional testing
  • Partner with stakeholders to support user acceptance testing (UAT) and production sign-off
  • Ensure high-quality deployments with minimal post-production defects
  • Validate first-production usage and resolve issues as needed

Production Support & Problem Resolution

  • Participate in a 24/7 rotational on-call support model
  • Respond to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis
  • Implement preventative solutions to reduce recurring issues
  • Provide day-to-day application support and user assistance

Project Planning & Execution

  • Collaborate with business partners to define solution value and scope
  • Develop detailed project work plans, including tasks, dependencies, and estimates
  • Identify risks, issues, and mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery
  • Support budget planning and project prioritization activities
  • Follow established project development methodologies

Operational Excellence & Innovation

  • Champion best practices, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Mentor team members and provide technical guidance on complex challenges
  • Recommend innovative solutions to improve performance, scalability, and efficiency
  • Share knowledge and promote a culture of technical excellence

Systems Administration & Vendor Coordination

  • Support configuration, installation, upgrades, and administration of third-party applications
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams (server, network, database) to ensure system stability and performance
  • Coordinate with external vendors for troubleshooting, enhancements, and issue resolution

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree, required
  • 5+ years of experience in the implementation, configuration, development, maintenance and ongoing support of complex computer systems with 3+ years providing technical leadership and project management for mid-large efforts.
  • 3+ Years of Experience working in a Health Care institution. Proven ability to translate business/ clinical requirements to technical solution design.
  • Excellent ability to communicate with technical teams and business / clinical audiences.
  • Deep Experience with Data Integration Standards including: HL7; IHE; FHIR; SOAP API; and REST API. Demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets.

Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.

Minimum – Midpoint – Maximum

$108,180.00 – $124,342.00 – $147,097.00
