Baystate Health, western Massachusetts’s premier healthcare provider, and home to Baystate Medical Center, the region’s only level 1 trauma center and pediatric trauma center seeks a Surgical Technologist to join our team of skilled professionals.

RESPONSIBILITIES. A Surgical Technologist possesses expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.

SCHEDULE.  Full time positions are 36 or 40 hours, in 10- or 12-hour shifts, which allow for a flexible 3- or 4-day workweek. Multiple Specialties to choose from.

STATE OF THE ART TECHNOLOGIES. Our staff work with advanced equipment, including 3 robots and our Total Joint Program is expanding. The Baystate Simulation Center and Goldberg Surgical Skills Laboratory provide fully accredited world-class medical training facilities for learners from a variety of healthcare professions and multiple specialty areas.

The Daly Operating Room is comprised of 18 operating rooms that support multiple specialty service lines; Level 1 Trauma Service, Pediatrics, Neurosurgery, Bariatric Surgery, General GYN Surgery, Total Joint, Orthopedic Trauma, Transplant, Thoracic, Plastic, Robotics and Urology. Other surgical areas include the Heart & Vascular OR, and the Chestnut Day Surgery OR.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate degree in Surgical Technology

Or program accredited by Committee on Allied Health Education Association or have completed a structured training program and hold a professional equivalent

New hires will require certification if they had no experience in a surgical facility prior to July 1, 2013.

AST preferred

Candidates with more experience/certifications may be considered for a higher level within the career ladder.

Sign on Bonus:

$7500 if 1 year or more of experience

$5000 if less than 1 year of experience
