Sterile Processing Technician

Baystate Health, western Massachusetts’s premier healthcare provider, and home to Baystate Medical Center, the region’s only level one trauma center and pediatric trauma center is seeking  Sterile Processing Technicians to join our team!

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

  • Sterile Processing is a critical function of Surgical Services, responsible for decontamination, inspection, sterilization and assembly of instruments and equipment according to hospital protocol. Work with a large team of dedicated healthcare professionals in a fast paced environment supporting our providers and patients. 

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS  

  • Sterile processing technicians play an important role here at Baystate Health and are some of the most significant team members in the hospital-responsible for the critical role of infection prevention, maintaining supplies, and reprocessing instrumentation to be used in complex surgeries and procedures.  Your days will be spent moving around the facility to collect, disinfect, package and sterilize surgical instrumentation for the operating room and outpatient facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School/GED required; or relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education. Sterile Processing Certification a plus but not required at hire.  Relevant experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the above responsibilities desired.
