Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, and home to Baystate Medical Center (BMC), and the region's only level 1 trauma center is looking for a full-time Staff Assistant to support our OB/GYN team in Springfield, MA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Baystate Health, Staff Assistants provides extensive administrative and secretarial support to the manager, division chiefs, providers, and/or department.  The Staff Assistant in Ob/Gyn is responsible for coordination of administrative schedules and may help with clinical coverage schedules. This includes accurate and timely entering of scheduling information into Outlook or other scheduling applications, works out schedule conflicts or gaps ahead of time and communicates with division chiefs as needed.  Processes administrative paperwork and billing invoices. Attends meetings and takes minutes as needed. Represents the department in resolving problems and exchange of information, interpretation of departmental policy and procedures. Receives and screens visitors and telephone calls for department and responds to general inquiries or routes to appropriate personnel. Interacts with a wide variety of hospital executives, medical staff and/or outsiders in a professional and efficient manner, obtains or relays information, arranges meetings, gathers data, etc. Receives and screens incoming correspondence, reports, memos, etc., and prepares appropriate responses to routine inquiries.

SCHEDULE:

  • Full-time – 8:00am-4:30pm Monday through Friday
  • No weekends, No holidays

LOCATION:

  • Baystate Medical Center- 759 Chestnut St.
  • Springfield, MA
  • Option for 1 day per week remote after successful 90 day orientation

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High School Diploma or GED, required
  • Minimum of 2 years working in an office or practice setting
