Function as part of Radiation Department at the Cancer Center,, supporting patients undergoing radiation to different areas of the body, along with a team of physicians and radiation therapists. Provides patient education, assessment of treatment-related side effects, and communication across departments. Some types of radiation are given under anesthesia, so must be able to participate in sterile procedures, and provide pre- and post-op care. PACU/ACLS/PALS qualified nurses are responsible for all phases of anesthesia care provided for pediatric and adult patients. Demonstrates competency in the performance of simple and complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as venipuncture, administration of IV fluids, medications, and care of vascular access devices. Manages telephone calls from patients and families: triages patient calls, assesses the clinical problem, and implements a plan related to patient need. .
Required Work Experience:
- MA RN License, BSN and CPR and ACLS required
- PACU experience preferred
- OCN Certification strongly preferred or must obtain within 18 months of hire.
- 3-5 years of acute care nursing experience required
- Oncology experience and knowledge of oncology care, protocols, knowledge of chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, IV therapy and related supportive measures strongly preferred

Full Time, 36 hours working 4- 9 hours shifts Monday -Friday
