You would be responsible for:
Practices radiation safety according to policy and procedure.
Ensures proper identification of all patients according to established policy and procedure.
Knowledgeable of interdepartmental functions and policies and procedures Reviews radiation therapy written directive (radiation prescription)for identified patient. Validates written directive & radiation prescription with attending or consulting radiation oncologist if record and verify system does not contain an identical written directive.
Responsible for maintaining patient confidentiality. Accesses and navigates the patients electronic medical record for purposes specific to job role and responsibilities.
Communicates clearly explaining the nature of procedure and/or treatment delivery in laymen’s terms.
Maintains knowledge of operators’ manual and manufacture’s recommendations for safe operation of Siemens CT scanners, Elekta Linear Accelerators, Elekta Mosaiq Record and Verify System, Visionrt, , SNC Diodes, RadCalc, Respiratory Gating System and fabrication and usage of immobilization devices as they apply to job responsibilities.
Performs functions as a clinical radiation therapist including morning warm up procedures, simulation, fabrication of immobilization device(s), treatment planning, dose calculation, validation of written directive (radiation prescription) and treatment parameters, patient set-up, immobilization, positioning, imaging, treatment delivery, documentation to include record and verify system. Participates in regulatory inspections, implementation of new technologies, subsequent training of staff members as required and department quality assurance activities.
Reviews CBCT, Portal images and DRR’s both independently and with radiation oncologist to ensure treatment field is accurately positioned according to quality assurance standards.
Consults with radiation oncologist and /or medical physics regarding modifications to treatment fields and/or written directive, as required.
Reviews instructions for discharge and follow up with patient, as applicable.
Analyzes equipment problems, seeks guidance from appropriate personnel/vendor as required to achieve resolution.
Demonstrates flexibility, placing the patient first. Adjusts schedule as required.

What will you need
Associates degree or an equivalent program certificate in Radiation Therapy required.
Minimum of one year experience preferred but not required. New graduates welcome.
ARRT and MA license required.
