The Medicine Units at Baystate Health are highly specialized and will be the foundation of a successful nursing career.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
- The Oncology is a full-service 23 bed unit providing a wide array of inpatient therapies and comfort measures.
- The unit provides chemotherapy treatment, end of life care, and houses general medical/surgical patients and specialty oncology patients.
- This unit features a solid team with longevity on staff.
Responsibilities:
- Clinical Practice and Quality Outcomes-The Nurse Manager administers direct nursing care to patients and serves as a clinical resource and role model of clinical excellence for staff.
- Human Resource Leadership: The Nurse Manger in collaboration with the Nurse Manager leads a positive work environment that facilitates the delivery of excellent patient and caregiver experiences.t.
- Management of the Patient Care Environment: The Nurse Manager is a leader who is highly visible on the patient care unit and is responsible for the effective management of patient progress and outcomes of care.
- Financial Growth and Stewardship: The Nurse Manager is accountable to manage within budget in collaboration with the Nurse Manager as evidenced by metrics.

- Full Time Days Monday-Friday
- Location: Baystate Medical Center Springfield

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- BSN Required
- Experience: Five years inpatient nursing experience required.
- Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.
