Baystate Health, western Massachusetts’s premier healthcare provider, and home to Baystate Medical Center (BMC), a Magnet Hospital for Nursing Excellence seeks a Nurse Educator to join the surgical team, working in an outpatient and day-stay surgical setting.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • A PASSION FOR EDUCATION. In this role you will be training all newly hired staff for the first six months. This facilitates continuous performance feedback for new hires during the initial orientation phase, and you are essential to all new employees’ growth during the first year of their experience at Baystate Medical Center.

In this role you are collaborating with nursing leadership in the participation and interview selection of new unit staff. Once staff is hired, you are collaborating with nursing leadership and the manager to ensure excellence for patient outcomes by developing staff and creating continued education based on needs.
  • WORK LIFE BALANCE. We value work life balance in our department and the schedule for this position is four ten hour days between Monday through Friday. This position does not require on-call and only requires the occasional weekend and holiday.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.
  • Experience:  Five years’ experience with a surgical patient population.
  • Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing or matriculating within one year. Doctorate in Education or Clinical Nurse Leadership preferred.
  • Leadership capabilities and skills required.
  • Prior teaching experience preferred.
  • Prior experience with publication and research preferred.
