Baystate Health, western Massachusetts’s premier healthcare provider, and home to Baystate Medical Practices, the largest multispecialty group in the region is looking for a registered or certified Medical Assistant to join our OB/GYN team in Northampton, MA.
RESPONSIBILITIES. Baystate Health, Medical Assistants perform an important role providing care to our patients. They take vital signs, perform patient intake and history, clinical orders, procedures, documentation and patient discharge. Our supportive work environment allows you to provide optimal patient care.
SCHEDULE. Full time: Monday thru Friday. No weekends, no holidays.

Requirements:
o High School diploma or GED
o CPR-Basic Life Support of Healthcare Provider required from the American Heart Association
o Must be ONE of the following
1. Certified through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
2. A Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) Registered as an American Medical Technologist (AMT)
3. Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Healthcare Association
o Great interpersonal skills, compassionate care giver and able to work in a fast paced environment a MUST.
Practice Specific: In some specific service lines, the incumbent may have to:
Assist in visits and procedures for patients seeking abortion services or services for pregnancy loss such as collecting supplies, printing consents, organizing instruments, medications, and/or assisting during insertion of cervical dilators for surgical abortion procedures.
Assist provider with pelvic and breast exams for all patients.
Assist with cervical cytology screening and filling out appropriate forms
Assist with in-office surgical procedures such as miscarriage management, biopsies, colposcopy, and LEEP procedures of the cervix.
Assists with transgender and non-binary patients seeking gender affirming therapy and/or surgery
