Set up, delivery and retrieval of catered functions in a timely manner in accordance with scheduled meetings and functions as needed daily. Perform Room Setups as required and provide clean organized Conference Rooms during normal business hours. Do periodic inspections of Conference Rooms and call in work orders as needed. Assist with Monitoring of Conference rooms for appropriate use and report to Manager if inappropriate use or vacant reserved rooms are noticed. Provide efficient and courteous service to our various customers throughout the institution. Assemble and delivery of miscellaneous food items to Main Campus and Satellite locations if necessary. Maintain the organization and cleanliness as well as sanitation of the Catering area and all storage areas associated with it. Assist with delivery of off campus functions if necessary while adhering to all of the requirements of the department’s fleet drivers. Adhere to system and department compliance policies, and any and all applicable laws and regulations. This description covers the essential functions of the position. Incumbent is expected to perform other similar and related duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities: 

1) Maintains sanitary environment in the work area. Clean and sanitize all work areas after performing job tasks in accordance with National Restaurant Association Guidelines. Clean and sanitize all equipment and utensils after completing a job routine. Follows NRA standards for separation of raw/cooked uses. Maintains clean environment of work station throughout shift, including cabinets, counters, shelves, sink, etc. Labels all food product properly.

2) Practices proper infection control. Properly washes hands in accordance with departmental infection control standards. Follows correct procedure in using hair restraint as identified in department infection control standards. Maintains neat and clean uniform and self as observed by supervisor and perceived by customers.

3) Maintain cleanliness, organization and Sanitation of Catering area. Sweep and mop, empty trash as needed in Catering Area. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of Catering Storage areas. Maintains proper stock of paper products, small wares, dishes and serving utensils and promptly re-orders and re-supplies depleted items. Receive orders from Commissary and put stock away according to Departmental Standards.

4) Develops and maintains good interpersonal relationships. Maintains effective working relationships with peers, guests and other hospital employees that reflects mutual respect, professionalism and courtesy. Promotes good rapport with customers and guests. Promotes the environment of the department, (food quality, cleanliness, etc.).

5) Responds to departmental staffing needs. Employee identified a need to assist a customer and utilizes resources within his/her authority to help. Employee anticipates operational needs of the department and displays teamwork in assisting fellow employees. Employee demonstrates flexibility in being moved from one assigned position to another to achieve proper departmental productivity.

6) Perform Room Setups as necessary Arrange Conference Rooms as per customer requests, placing tables and chairs in the configuration requested. Maintain cleanliness of Conference Rooms during normal business hours, sweeping, vacuuming, doing trash and wiping tables as necessary. Perform periodic inspections of Conference Rooms and call in work orders as necessary. Keep Supervisor informed of proper use of Conference Rooms as well as unused Conference Rooms when booked.

7) Time Management Completes assigned deliveries in a timely fashion. Answers pages within 5 minutes with no more than 2-4 exceptions per year. Performs special deliveries as assigned, when requested. Performs additional duties when finished with assigned duties without being instructed by lead or supervisor.

8) Vehicle Operation and Cleanliness Operates vehicle in accordance with public safety and D.M.V. laws with 0 exceptions. Performs temperature check and documents in log book according to H.A.C.C.P. regulations. Performs and turns in Vehicle Inspection Log daily. Refuels vehicles when tank reads ½ full. Reports to supervisor (in writing) any vehicle accident or unusual occurrence immediately with 0 exceptions. Reports any maintenance issues to supervisor immediately. Checks log book frequently through out the day. Cleans interior of trucks daily, removing all debris.
