Baystate Health, western Massachusetts's premier healthcare provider, and home to Baystate Franklin Medical Center (BFMC), located in Greenfield, MA is an 89-bed acute care hospital providing inpatient, outpatient, emergency and behavioral health services is looking for a HIM EMR Specialist to join our team!

Department Description:

This position will ensure receipt of all inpatient, ambulatory surgery, emergency department and all other outpatient records; review each patient record for quality of the original; identify items that cannot be scanned; ensure patient identification on each document; and group like documents in the appropriate order in preparation for scanning and/or filing. The EMR Specialist will obtain records from the nursing units and also scan all records into the Electronic Medical Record on a daily basis. This position will maintain daily workflow, ensuring that records are scanned in a timely and efficient manner to avoid delay in further processing.

Schedule:

  • Full-time, 40 Hours per Week

  • Monday-Friday, 6:30 am to 3:30 pm with occasional weekend day

  • Position located at Franklin Medical Center, Greenfield, Ma

Qualification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience in Medical Records/Health Information Management (HIM)

  • Knowledge computer systems/Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

  • MS Office or similar, Efficient with keyboarding

  • Ability to communicate effectively, written and oral

  • Manages difficult conversations effectively, adhering to the BH Service Standards and Operating Principles at all times
