Employee Retention Specialist
The Employee Retention Specialist is responsible for executing strategies that meet contemporary and emerging workforce needs to engage and retain employees. The specialist supports workplace culture and a positive work environment, ensures a contemporary onboarding experience, and contributes to large scale projects affecting the broader workforce as well as strategically aligned efforts supporting immediate and future workforce planning and business needs. The role includes cultivating relationships with leaders and staff, outreach to employees and leaders as well as timely response to emergent needs related to retention.
- Contribute to the design of and implement largescale programs to keep employees at risk of flight, within the health system.
- Partner with Workforce Planning, Employee Relations and HR Business Partners to Identify areas of focus for intervention and change that leads to retention.
- Use qualitative and quantitative retention data from employee surveys, stay and exit interviews to inform and measure progress on focused strategies.
- Determine gaps where additional supervisor and management training is needed
- Identify operational and/or system changes that will help Baystate adjust to a shorter-term workforce and emerging and changing needs.
- Partner to ensure compensation and scheduling models align with workforce
- Partner with Onboarding Team to continuously evaluate and update effectiveness of onboarding activities and ensure it incorporates the company culture
- Develop innovative opportunities for advancement and career paths for workers
- Partners to implement & evaluate recognition & appreciation programs
- Ascertain ways the organization and managers can be more transparent with employees
- Improve company’s employer brand both internally & externally
Qualifications
- High School/GED, Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
- 2 years relevant human resources experience at a large, complex organization
- Must have demonstrated knowledge of HR policy and practices
- Prior experience leading, managing and coordinating recruitment, retention engagement-related activities, facilitating focus groups and project management
- Proven ability to interact with and influence senior-level and all levels of management with effective & strong communications and customer service skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook & ability to gain proficiency with new software
- Ability to work independently without supervision & and prioritize workload
- Fluency in Spanish a plus
Applicant must have the ability to be onsite at least three to four days per week on Baystate Health Campuses with remote option for the remainder of week's schedule. Flexibility is required depending on needs.
