- 40 hours, day shift, rotating weekend an holiday coverage

Summary:
Under the direction of the Manager for the Electrical Shop, perform a variety of duties involving layout, installation, alteration, inspection, test and repair of electrical systems and related equipment throughout Baystate Medical Center.
Job Responsibilities:
1) Work from Work Orders, specifications, drawings, prints and instructions. Install and /or modify new and existing systems and related equipment. Layout and install electrical wire, computer and video television cable and similar items. Install and/or connect electrical components in various items and equipment such as heating, air conditioning, kitchen and laboratory. Change location of electrical systems and equipment as required or directed. Isolate, detect and repair faulty wires, motors, fixtures and panels. Inspect and test emergency generator circuits and equipment.
2) Maintain thorough knowledge of current methods and practices in electrical procedures including codes and similar regulations. Refer unusual cases or problems to manager
3) Prepare and maintain required records of time, materials and supplies. Order materials and supplies as needed.
4) Work with other trades personnel. Inspect and approve work of unlicensed personnel as required.
5) Maintain work areas and equipment in a safe, neat and orderly condition.
Minimum Requirements:
Active US Driver’s License
State of Massachusetts Journeyman’s License
Skills and Competencies:
1) Basic computer skills, ability to read, write and speak English, basic math skills, ability to work with minimum supervision
