This is a remote work opportunity that can be based out of the following states:

The incumbent is also responsible for all aspects of developing, implementing and protocols for ensuring compute, capacity, voice and data initiatives within the enterprise maintain uptime to support the care of our patients. The Director ensures high performance, consistency, reliability and scalability of all such technology offerings through architectural standards. This individual maintains the architectural strategy that supports the existing enterprise infrastructure while providing standard direction in all new technology-related initiatives in support of core business goals and objectives. Additionally, the Director is responsible for building and maintaining a team of highly skilled architects, and technical specialists in order to provide timely, efficient, accurate and uninterrupted computing services to the business communities. This position provides leadership, vision, strategic planning to all Managerial, Supervisory and Technical staff for the I&T Division. This position partners with the SVP/CIDO, VP/ CISO, IT Division Directors, IT Managers, and other Directors and Vice Presidents throughout Baystate Health to ensure the IT computing resources are meeting the needs of Baystate Health. In addition, the Director is responsible for the development and implementation of long-term strategies related to Cloud, data-center architecture, and resilience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Directs the process of capacity analysis and functional assessment for all technical platforms and develops strategies and recommendations to ensure that each system is managed in a manner to maximize its life cycle.
- Ensures the adequate system capacity is always available for current demands, and additional capacity for unforeseen needs is available within reasonable time and cost parameters.
- Directs the establishment of control procedures for intake and triage, ensuring that adherence to agreed up on architecture and principles are adhered to and are kept for enterprise system access.
- Coordinates the development of architectural system standards for uptime and resiliency and monitors reports that document actual performance against these benchmarks. Associated with a variety of key relationships with clients, vendors, and external organizations.
- Develops resiliency methods to increase productivity and reduce costs; identifies obstacles that impact efficient operations
- Contributes to the development and ongoing maintenance of the Health System's Strategic Information Systems Plan, assists in formulating technical strategies consistent with long-range business objectives and Application Systems strategies.
- Contributes to the development and maintenance of a three-year plan for each of the key technical platforms, addressing upgrades, changes, and new implementations that are required to meet the business objectives of the Health System.
- Ensures that plans are targeted at improving effectiveness and quality of care throughout the Health System, and that they are consistent with the expected financial performance.
- Maintains a working knowledge of trends in both technology and operations, routinely compares the needs of the Health System to these trends. Advises IT on hardware and operational aspects of planned architectural designs
Required Work Experience:
Incumbent should possess 10-15 years IT experience with 5-10 years proven managerial responsibilities Extensive technical and operations background in telecommunications for complex and expansive environment Preferred Work Experience:
Skills and Competency:
Incumbent must possess strong knowledge and experience in data center operations, infrastructure management, and development lifecycle Incumbent must possess an extensive working knowledge of, but not limited to, Cloud and multi-cloud architectures, enterprise architecture, solution architecture, application architecture, network architecture, and integration architecture, data center design and construction, energy and environmental management
