Denials and Appeals Coordinator- Case Management Dept.

Part Time Monday – Friday 6:30 AM-11:30 AM

NO weekends/ NO holidays

This position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Hospital Case Management Program, with the primary responsibility being to facilitate the coordination of the denial and appeal process.

  • Maintaining an accurate database on the denied and appealed cases.
  • Preparing reports under the direction of the Manager for HCM.
  • Identifying and obtaining supporting documentation and other applicable information necessary for appeals.
  •  Interacting extensively with Case Manager and Physicians of service areas and other front end personnel, regarding appeals and denials.
  • Preparing Xsolis reports on denial/appeal process and report to Manager of Case Management.
  • Work is planned and assigned by supervisor and is reviewed for accuracy, completeness and quantity.
  •  Provides staff support services for the Manager of Case Management.
  • Prioritizes workload and makes assessments as to the efficiency of the process and makes changes as needed and directed.
  •  Maintains knowledge of the process required for timely, efficient management of denied cases.


  • 2-3 yrs experience in healthcare office environment
  • Experience in billing, coding insurance preferred
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, basic accounting practices, medical terminology
  • Must be organized, conscientious and good have strong attention to detail Hospital experience and utilization of hospital software programs
