The Ambulatory Pharmacies are open from 8:00am – 8:00pm. Shifts will rotate within those hours. Schedule may include weekend and holiday rotation.

What you will need
• Registered Technician according to Massachusetts State Code 247 and Certified according to Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required
•High school graduate or equivalent;
•eighteen years of age or older;
•demonstrated general math skills;
•knowledge of brand and generic names;
•knowledge of pharmacy systems;
What will you do
Ambulatory Services Pharmacy Technicians assist the pharmacist by performing all technical tasks related to preparation and distribution of prescriptions (i.e., taking patient information, adjudication of pharmacy claims through pharmacy computer system, ordering, stocking, and maintaining drug inventory, triaging telephone calls, prescription billing and cash register capabilities.); assist in the orientation and training of personnel in the above activities.
Performs all aspects of Pharmaceutical dispensing, including 3rd party claims processing and patient counseling. Maintain drug inventory and purchases (orders) drugs as required from vendors; incorporates returns for credits. Oversees Pharmacy Technicians in day to day work. Responsibility in providing drug information to patients and clinic providers and for ensuring safe and effective medication use practices and processes. Maintains appropriate records for all controlled substances. Complete monthly financial reports for Pharmacy location. Responsible for maintaining a neat and efficient work flow and physical environment and meeting productivity targets. Serves as primary resource for medication-related issues within DPH, JCAHO and other regulatory agencies.
