Behavioral Health Clinician Baystate Wing Hospital- Geri Psych

Department Description: 

Under the direction of the Director of Behavioral Health, Nurse Manager or Program Supervisor (as noted above), the Behavioral Health Clinician I (“BHC-I”) in the geri-psychiatric inpatient unit is responsible for performing a wide range of duties involving patient evaluation, case management, treatment, discharge planning, and documentation.  The BHC-I is responsible for gathering a psychosocial evaluation through interviews and record review, and completing a written assessment with case formulation and treatment plan. The BHC-I facilitates psychoeducational and psychotherapeutic family and systems meetings and may also lead psychotherapeutic and/or psychoeducational groups as assigned. Position includes close collaboration with the treatment team, which may include a Psychiatrist, Psychiatric Resident, Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse, Physician Assistant, Occupational Therapist, Utilization Review Specialist, Mental Health Counselor, Patient Care Technician and Psychiatric Nurse. The BHC-I must have excellent written, keyboarding, and verbal communication skills. Schedule:

• Full-time, 40 Hours per Week

• Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

• Position located at Baystate Wing Hospital, Palmer MA

Qualification:

• Master's Degree required; Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling

• Current Massachusetts "Independent License Eligible” Clinician for: 1) LICSW (Lic. Independent Clin. Social Worker; MSWs must have current LCSW; 2) LMHC (Lic. Mental Health Counselor); or 3) LMFT (Lic. Marriage & Fam Therapist)

• Two or more years in a healthcare or social service setting, and experience in Geri-Psych adult population. Equivalent experience in a masters-level internship setting may be considered.

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned area.  Demonstrates the knowledge and skill to facilitate individual and family psychotherapy.  Demonstrate the ability to provide care in a highly collaborative team setting​
